What is Cinco de Mayo? Cinco de Mayo is a yearly celebration on May 5 (today) celebrating when Mexico victory beating the French Empire at the battle of Puebla. It was only a one day long battle fought near the city of Puebla City. Why is it celebrated? It celebrates and remembrance of the Mexican's army's victory over Napoleon III's French forces at the Battle on May 5, 1862.

Is there a difference between Cinco de Mayo and Mexican Independence Day?

Cinco de Mayo and Mexican independence day are not the same day. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on the fifth of May every year when Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on September 16 of every year. Cinco de Mayo is the remembrance of the Mexican Army's victory against Napoleon III's French forces, and then Mexican Independence day is the holiday that celebrates Mexico's declaration of independence from Spain in 1810. Will your family do anything to celebrate today? Well today is actually my birthday so every year we usually celebrate and have tacos and a couple different types of enchiladas, different side dishes and things of that sort. I'm not too sure what we have planned for this years Cinco de Mayo, but that's how my family usually celebrates Cinco de Mayo. Me and a classmate of mine explored the filters on snapchat for Cinco de Mayo. There was a lot of different filters that did different things, the video below what I choose to use for the short video we had to create.
